Sophie's Back Home

Today I brought home our Sophie's remains. I can't help, but feel a sense of relief that she's back home with us. I don't know how to explain it, but there was this aching pain in my heart when I said goodbye and then they took our Sophie away. The thing that surprised us most about this whole experience is the amount of time that it takes to get your dogs remains back from the crematorium. It was exactly four weeks. I understand that these things take time, but in my opinion it prolonged the closure. So you can understand why we feel a little relieved. We're happy to have her back home.
